Kling AI Pricing (2026): Subscription Plans, API Cost
Kling AI plans renew at $8.80–$159.99 a month or $79.20–$1,429.99 a year, and the API costs $0.112–$0.42 per second of video. Real per-credit costs, how many videos each plan makes, and why yearly saves 25%, not 34%.

Kling AI has one free plan and four paid plans in 2026: Standard, Pro, Premier and Ultra. On monthly billing they renew at $8.80, $32.56, $80.96 and $159.99 a month after a discounted first month; billed yearly, they cost $79.20, $293.04, $728.64 and $1,429.99 a year. Plans include 660, 3,000, 8,000 and 26,000 credits a month.
For developers, the Kling API is priced separately, per second of video. Kling 3.0 at 1080p costs $0.112 a second without audio and $0.168 with native audio, and 4K costs $0.42 a second. API access is sold in prepaid packages starting at $700. The prices below come from Kling's membership page, developer pricing page and credits policy, checked on 16 September 2026. The first-month price is a one-time offer on your first subscription. From the second month, monthly plans renew at the higher price, and that renewal price is the number to budget with.
What "34% off" and "12% off" compare against
Kling shows a list price for each plan ($10, $37, $92 and $180 a month) and labels yearly billing "34% off" and monthly billing "12% off." Both discounts are measured against that list price, which you never actually pay:
- Monthly renews at $8.80 for Standard, 12% below the $10 list price.
- Yearly costs $79.20, 34% below twelve months of list price ($120).
- Against the $8.80 monthly renewal you'd really pay, yearly billing saves 25%. Kling's own fine print says as much: "Save $26.4 vs. monthly."

What You Actually Pay per Credit
The plan cards quote a price per 100 credits, but on monthly billing that figure uses the discounted first-month price. Standard shows "100 credits = $1.06," which is $6.99 divided by 660 credits. From month two the real figure is $1.33. Kling's own credit guide uses the renewal figure.

The jump to Ultra is the biggest value step: its credits cost less than half of Standard's. Buying credits on their own is the most expensive way to pay, although purchased credits last much longer, as explained below.
How Many Videos Do You Get?
Kling's plan guide equates each plan's credits to 720p videos at 20 credits each and images at 1 credit each. It also lists native 4K output for the Kling 3.0 series at 30 credits per second.

4K is where budgets disappear. One 10-second 4K clip uses 300 credits, nearly half of Standard's monthly allowance. If your final delivery is a phone-sized social post, generating in 4K usually spends credits on detail nobody will see.
Several features add cost on top of these baselines. Native audio, Kling 3.0 Omni with reference inputs, and Multi-Shot all use more credits than a basic clip; the live generation panel shows the exact cost before you commit. On the API, adding native audio to a 1080p Kling 3.0 clip raises the price by 50%, which is a reasonable guide to the relative cost in the app too. Kling 3.0 clips can run from 3 to 15 seconds, and credits scale with duration, so a focused 6-second shot costs less than a loose 15-second one.

Every paid plan also includes free use of VIDEO 2.6 Voice Control, three free Element AI Multi-Shot uses a day, unlimited task queueing, and daily login credits for subscribers during promotional periods.
The biggest difference between free and paid isn't credits. It's commercial use. Content generated on the free Basic plan can't be used commercially, and Kling's credits policy is explicit that credits alone don't unlock 1080p video, watermark removal, fast-track generation, video extension or upscaling. Those need a subscription. If you create anything for a client or a monetised channel, Standard is the minimum.
Kling Credit Rules: Expiry and Refunds
Kling's credits policy sets different lifetimes for different kinds of credits, and it spends the ones expiring soonest first.

Four practical rules follow from this:
- Subscription credits don't roll over. Anything left after a month is gone, so pick a plan you'll actually use up, not one with generous headroom.
- Purchased credits outlive your subscription. They stay valid for two years even if your membership lapses, which makes top-ups a reasonable buffer for occasional big months.
- Failed generations are refunded. Credits are deducted when you generate and returned if the generation fails.
- Credits can't be refunded, transferred or cashed out. They can't move between accounts, or between your personal and team spaces.
Kling API Pricing

In practice, a 10-second 1080p Kling 3.0 clip costs $1.12 without audio and $1.68 with it. Kling 3.0 Turbo with native audio is the value option at $1.40 for the same clip, but it has no 4K mode.

Video API access is bought as prepaid unit packages, and every package covers the full set of video capabilities: text-to-video, image-to-video, multi-image-to-video, element editing, extension, avatar, lip sync, effects, text-to-audio and video-to-audio.

Every package expires 180 days after purchase, with no rollover or extension, and allows 20 concurrent requests. Kling also lists a trial plan and custom packages for larger volumes through a business inquiry.
The 180-day limit is the constraint to plan around. $700 buys about 104 minutes of 1080p Kling 3.0 video without audio, 69 minutes with audio, or 28 minutes of 4K. If you won't generate that much within six months, the unused units expire.
App or API: Which Is Cheaper?

Choose the API for what it enables, not its price: automated pipelines, generating video inside your own product, and batch jobs with 20 concurrent requests. Using Kling Through Other Platforms
Kling models are also available inside multi-model platforms, where they draw on that platform's credits instead of a Kling subscription. ImagineArt, for example, includes Kling 2.6 Pro in its Ultimate plan's unlimited models and Kling 3.0 Pro in its Creator plan's unlimited models. Is Kling AI Worth the Price?
For individual creators, yes, on the right plan. Pro billed yearly is the sweet spot for regular use, and Ultra is dramatically better value for anyone generating at volume or in 4K. Standard is fine for testing commercial work, but at $1.33 per 100 credits on monthly billing it's the most expensive way to subscribe.
Budget with three corrections to the headline numbers: use the renewal price rather than the first-month offer, count yearly savings as 25% rather than 34%, and remember that subscription credits expire every month. On the API side, the per-second rates are competitive, but the 180-day package expiry means you should buy the smallest package that covers six months of real usage.
